Autonomous Citation Indexing for HyperJournal will add to the software two features in the submission of the articles: citation extraction and citation matching.

Definitions

Citation extraction

Retrieval of all the bibliographic references from a non-structured document. Typically documents contain references in a separate section (the Bibliography) or in the footnotes.

Citation matching

Mapping a bibliographic reference to the resource it points to. This is done by comparing relevant information about the reference against the base of known bibliographic entries.
